A Study on the Life Table of Entrepreneurs in Listed Companies
The study of entrepreneurs'life table relies on research methods of ecology,the demography and insurance to solve the puzzles about the turnover of entrepreneurs in listed companies in China.Our survey sample covers 1593 listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets from June 2009 to June 2012.And we mainly collect information about the turnovers of 8185 managers and presidents in order to generate both the dynamic and static life table from our sample.Then we use various methods derived from life table analysis to study the overall life process of the entrepreneurs in China.Our conclusions are as follows:First,the average length of entrepreneurs'tenure is short and this is obviously verified through the life table in this paper; Second,three main problemsthe problematic corporate governance structure,entrepreneurs'corruption and poor abilities embodied in the entrepreneurs themselves play a vital role in bringing about entrepreneurs'early death.So,in order to solve these problems and promote entrepreneurs' sustainable development,it is necessary to institutionalize corporate governance,to build an ideal social niche for entrepreneurs and to support entrepreneurial teamwork.
