羊群还是狼群?重污染企业绿色创新行为的同群效应

本文以2010-2019 年我国A股上市重污染企业为样本,基于绿色创新的视角,研究了企业同群效应对绿色创新行为的影响.实证结果表明,同行业企业之间的绿色创新行为存在规避性趋同和竞争性趋同两种机制,即前者对企业绿色创新行为具有负向的影响,而后者对企业绿色创新行为具有正向的影响.此外,相比于竞争性趋同,规避性趋同的影响更大.进一步研究发现,当企业受到强环保压力、高媒体舆论关注度时,同群效应对企业绿色创新的作用更大.国有企业的产权性质可以正向调节规避性趋同与企业绿色创新之间的关系,然而,在竞争性趋同与企业绿色创新之间的关系上,其产权性质并没有展现出显著的调节作用.本文的发现有助于丰富同群效应研究的相关文献,并为政府进一步完善市场治理结构提供经验证据.
Sheep or Wolves?Peer Effect in the Green Innovation Behavior of Heavy Polluting Companies
This paper studies the influencing factors of corporate green innovation from two perspectives:avoidant convergence and com-petitive convergence.Based on the new institutional theory,this paper takes China A-share listed heavy polluting companies from 2010 to 2019 as research samples,and finds that corporate green innovation behavior has a peer effect,and there are two influence mechanisms:avoidant convergence and competitive convergence.Moreover,the two convergence mechanisms have different effects on the green inno-vation.The former has a negative impact on the green innovation behavior of enterprises,while the latter has a positive impact on the green innovation behavior of enterprises.Compared with competitive convergence,avoidant convergence has a greater impact.Further re-search shows that when enterprises are under strong environmental pressure and high media attention,peer effect plays a greater role in green innovation of enterprises.Strong political relevance can enhance the effect of avoidant convergence on green innovation of enterpri-ses,but it has no significant effect on the relationship between competitive convergence and green innovation.The research conclusion provides theoretical support for the government to understand and use the group environmental behavior.
