How Does Enterprise Digital Social Technology Using Empower Employee Improvisation Capability?Based on the Perspective of Transactive Memory
In complex environments,employee improvisation capability plays a critical and irreplaceable role.As a cutting-edge tech-nological product of the digital era,enterprise digital social technology creates new opportunities for enhancing improvisation capability.However,due to the lack of robust theoretical guidance,the mechanism through which enterprise digital social technology use empowers employees to improvise remains unclear,making it challenging to fully leverage its practical value.To address these gaps,this study suc-cessfully constructed and validated a mechanism of enterprise digital social technology use empowerment using a transactive memory per-spective.Based on a longitudinal survey,the findings revealed several key insights.First,both work-related and social-related uses of en-terprise digital social technology significantly contribute to empowering employee improvisation capability.Second,transactive memory serves as a complex mediator linking technology use with employee improvisation capability.Third,task complexity emerges as a crucial moderator,amplifying the positive effects of enterprise digital social technology when employees handle tasks of high complexity.By adopt-ing a transactive memory perspective,this study opens the"black box"of how enterprise digital social technology facilitates employee im-provisation.It enriches the existing body of research on enterprise digital social technology,transactive memory,and individual improvisa-tion.Furthermore,the study offers valuable policy recommendations and managerial insights.
