Building on the theoretical analysis of the impact of the digital economy on the upgra-ding of manufacturing structure,this study takes the perspective of producer services agglomeration and constructs an analytical framework of"Digital Economy-Producer Services Agglomeration-Upgra-ding of Manufacturing Structure".And it uses the data of provinces,cities and manufacturing sub-sectors from 2011 to 2020 and conduct empirical tests to examine the impact of digital economy on the upgrading of manufacturing structure.It is found that digital economy can significantly promote the upgrading of manufacturing structure,and the conclusion is still convincing after some robustness tests such as instrumental variable method.Producer services agglomeration is an important mecha-nism of digital economy affecting the upgrading of manufacturing structure,and this mechanism effect is more realized through the agglomeration of high-tech producer services industries;there are obvious industrial and regional heterogeneity in the impact of digital economy on the upgrading of manufactur-ing structure.
