Research on the Impact of Executive Pay Gap on Enterprise Digital Transformation
Based on the data of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies in China from 2007 to 2021,this study constructs and tests the role of executive pay gap on enterprise digital trans-formation and its role scenario.The research shows that there is a significant difference between the type of pay gap of the executive team and the enterprise digital transformation,in which the vertical pay gap and the external pay gap have a significant promoting effect on the enterprise digital transfor-mation,and the horizontal pay gap has a significant inhibiting effect on the enterprise digital transfor-mation.The results show that the external environment,including the level of industry competition,regional trust and environmental uncertainty,has a moderating effect on the relationship between ex-ecutive team pay gap and digital transformation.Corporate attributes,including property rights,technological attributes and competitive strategies,have a heterogeneous impact on the relationship between executive team pay gap and corporate digital transformation.
