Massage Combined with Mulligan Bent Leg Raise in the Treatment of Lumbar Disc Herniation with Sciatic Nerve Radiation Pain
Objective To observe the clinical effect of massage combined with Mulligan bent leg raise(BLR)in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation with sciatic nerve radiation pain. Methods A total of 64 cases of lumbar disc herniation with sciatic nerve radiation pain patients were randomly divided into a massage group(22 cases, treated with massage),a Mulligan BLR treatment group(20 cases, treated with BLR),and a treatment group(22 cases, treated with massage combined with BLR).The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)score for lumbar disc herniation with sciatic nerve pain, and Straight Leg Raise(SLR)score were used to evaluate the therapeutic effect before and after treatment in the three groups. Results After treatment, the average VAS of the 3 groups was lower than before treatment, and JOA score was increased, and the degree of reduction and improvement in the treatment group was greater than that in the massage group and the BLR group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Massage combined with Mulligan BLR is effective in treating lumbar disc herniation with sciatic nerve radiation pain, and it is worthy of promotion.
