FROST HEAVE TEST AND DEFORMATION ANALYSIS OF SULFATE SALINE SOIL IN THE COLD REGIONS
Laboratory experiments were carried out on the salt frost heave characteristics of sulfate saline soil in cold regions.A series of experiments were carried out on the effects of salt content and water content on the frost heave deformation of soil in Hexi area,Gansu Province, and the variation law and mechanism of sulfate saline soil were discussed.Based on the theory of thermodynamic equilibrium, this paper establishes a theoretical expression of the crystallization pressure of ice salt during the freezing process of moisture, and reveals the deformation mechanism of salt heave in sulfate soil. The results show that the salt content increases first, then decreases and then increases to the frost heave deformation of soil. The lower the initial water content, the higher the initial crystallization temperature of the salt crystals, the closer the solution concentration is to the saturated state, and the more likely the soil is to undergo salt expansion failure. With the increase of sodium sulfate content, the ice crystallization pressure gradually decreased, and the salt crystallization pressure increased, and the interaction of ice salt crystallization pressure led to the expansion and destruction of the soil.
