The book Rituals,Customs,and the Evolution of Poetry provides a comprehensive summ ary of the research on pre-Qin literature,particularly poetry,from the perspectives of historical and cultural theories.Through an exploration of rituals and cus-toms and an examination of the development of ancient poetry,we are able to observe the existence and evolution of early poetry,as well as gain insight into the overall progress of Chinese poetry from the early Spring and Autumn Period to the end of the Warring States.
