Controlled Microwave-promoted Environmentally Friendly Synthesis of Symmetric 1,n-Methylene Diesters
A series of methylene dicarboxylic acid esters were efficiently synthesized using controllable microwave heating technology by diesterification of arylformic acid and 1,n-dibromoalkanes in water or without solvent. The"one pot"method was employed, allowing for the synthesis of a diverse range of methylene diester compounds. The effects of reaction temperature, time, alkali and solvent on the yield of diesterification were investigated.Under the optimized experimental conditions,31 kinds of methylene dicarboxylate were synthesized. The substrate was widely application range, and a reasonable reaction mechanism was proposed. The method has the advantage of simple operation, short time, high yield and conforms to the principles of green chemistry.
