Effects of Values of Children on the Fertility Desires of Contemporary College Students
This article takes college students and their parents from a certain university as the research objects,exploring the influence of fertility values on contemporary college students'fertility intentions,as well as the intergenerational impact of parents'fertility values on contemporary college students'fertility intentions.The results show that:(1)The average fertility desires of parents is 1.50 children,the actual number of children is 2.29,and the fertility desires of contemporary college students is 1.04 children.(2)The correlation between the fertility desires of contemporary college students and the fertility desires of their fathers and mothers is not significant;the correlation between the fertility desires of fathers and mothers is also not significant;the correlation between the mother's fertility desire and the actual fertility behavior is not significant;however,there is a significant positive correlation between father's fertility intention and actual fertility behavior.(3)VOC+has a positive predictive effect on contemporary college students'fertility desires;VOC-has a negative predictive effect on contemporary college students'fertility choices.(4)There is a non-significant correlation between contemporary college students'fertility desires and their fathers'fertility values,but a significant correlation with their mothers'fertility values;fathers'VOC+is not a positive predictor of contemporary college students'fertility desires,and VOC-is not a negative predictor;mothers'VOC+is a positive predictor of contemporary college students'fertility desires,but VOC-has no negative predictive effect.The research results contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the fertility intentions of contemporary college students and their influencing factors,which has enlightening significance for enhancing the fertility intentions of contemporary college students.
