As the core financial support to promote the development of local government's public utilities,local financial expenditure plays an important role in the development of cities and counties,the stimulus of vitality of sci-entific and technological innovation needs to provide a source of finance.Based on the analysis of the current status of local fiscal science and technology investment in Gansu Province,the performance evaluation index system was established by using the Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA model)of the data from 2012 to 2022,and the perfor-mance of local fiscal science and technology investment in Gansu Province was evaluated from two dimensions:ver-tical comparison and horizontal research.The results show that Gansu province has a positive trend in the overall ef-ficiency of local fiscal input and output of science and technology,but the specific input efficiency of each city and state is not satisfactory.Therefore,in order to make more effective use of the local financial science and technology funds in Gansu province,it is suggested that the government adjust the regional resource allocation,increase the to-tal amount of R&D investment,and ensure the rational allocation of the investment proportion.
