Highway transportation is the foundation of national economic development,and studying the adapt-ability between highway transportation and regional economic development is of great significance to promote their coordinated development. The paper uses research methods such as Entropy Weight Method and Coupling Coordi-nation Degree Model to estimate the adaptability of road transportation and regional economic development in Gan-su Province from 2011 to 2020. Grey Correlation Analysis is used to calculate the correlation between road transpor-tation and regional economic development in Gansu Province from 2011 to 2020, and the main factors affecting the relationship between the two are analyzed. The findings are as follows:(1)From 2011 to 2020, the adaptability be-tween highway transportation and regional economic development in Gansu Province changes from good adaptation to high-quality adaptation, with a high degree of adaptation. Highway transportation can meet the needs of regional economic development;(2)From 2011 to 2020, the volume of highway freight is the most important factor affecting the relationship between highway transportation and economic development in Gansu Province.
