Effects of nonwoven PP fruit bag on berry qualities of Red Globe and Muscat Hamburg grape
Red Globe and Muscat Hamburg grape cultivars were used to study the effects of polypropylene(PP) bag on berry qualities with the normal paper bag as control. The results showed that the microenvironment of berries was improved in PP bags in comparison with paper bag.The changing of temperature and humidity in PP bags was more moderate than those in paper bag,and the lasting duration of extreme temperature and humidity in PP bag was shorter than that in paper bag by about 78% and 55%,respectively.Meanwhile natural light transmissivity of PP bag was higher than paper bag significantly(P〈0.05).Both exterior and interior qualities of berries bagged with PP bags were improved significantly(P〈0.05).The contents of soluble solid, anthocyanin and Vitamin C in the berries with PP bags increased by about 20%.The evaluation index of fresh eating quality of the berries in PP bags was higher by about15% and the disease incidence in PP bags decreased by 40%.It is suggested that PP bag can improve berry quality because of its characters of water proof, ventilation and light transmissivity in comparison with normal paper bag
