The hourly meteorological elements of Lanzhou in June from 2011 to 2020 and Lanzhou Mara-thons race period,and the relationship between the best result and air temperature were analyzed.The re-sults showed that affected by the geographical and climatic factors of sub-plateau cities,atmospheric pres-sure,temperature,sunshine,ultraviolet ray,wind speed and other meteorological conditions during the competitions were not suitable to varying degrees,the physiological function and athletic performance of competition participants were impacted.High temperature and too low atmospheric pressure were the main meteorological factors affecting the performance results of Lanzhou Marathons.The air temperature was highly correlated with the performance of Lanzhou Marathons.On this basis,the feasibility of adjusting the competition period of the Lanzhou Marathon was discussed focusing on air temperature.The air tempera-ture changes in different competition periods corresponding to the competition days,extremely high tem-perature days and low temperature days in June were compared.It suggested that by adjusting the competi-tion period,the air temperature can be more suitable for Lanzhou Marathon.Finally,a specific adjustment scheme was proposed,which providing a decision-making reference for the local organizing committee.
