The purpose of this paper is to study the impact of shield tunneling under railway passenger sta-tion tracks on the geometric deformation of railway tracks and the influence of the presence of underground passages.Using numerical simulation, this study investigates the shield tunneling beneath the railway pas-senger underground passages and station track to determine the primary analysis indicators for track deformation. Then it analyzes the impact of the underground passage, and finally conducts a comparative analysis by on-site monitoring data from Hohhot Metro Line 2.The results show that during shield tunnel construction beneath the railway, the most significant impact on the geometric deformation of the railway tracks is track subsidence, followed by vertical and horizontal irregularities. When the shield tunnel passes under the railway either perpendicularly or at an oblique angle, the presence of the underground passage reduces tracks deformation. When the shield tunnel crosses the railway tracks in a perpendicular manner, the tunnel axis should be at least three times the tunnel diameter away from the centerline of the under-ground passage. If close proximity to the underground passage is necessary, diagonal crossing can be employed, but measures must be taken to prevent excessive settlement of the underground passage.
