Exploring the driving factors of urban digital economy is of great significance for promoting the development of digital economy.Based on the digital economy data of 265 cities in China,excluding Tibet,Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan,factor analysis is used to analyze the driving factors for the development of China's urban digital economy and examine their spatial and temporal distribution characteristics.The study result shows that digital economy infrastructure construction and digital industry development are two important driving factors of urban digital economy.Chinese urban digital economy as a whole shows a growth trend,but there are significant regional disparities,and some cities have a long history of low-to-moderate digital economy development,or even regression.The center of gravity of digital economy development is concentrated in the eastern region,which develops at a faster rate than other regions.Improvement of urban digital economy infrastructure construction and development of digital economy industry are two important channels to promote digital economy development,and the research conclusions provide important references for improving the level of urban digital economy development and coordinating regional development.
