The Social Relations and New Alienation in Accelerating Society——Analysis of the Continued Alienation Theory from Rahel Jaeggi to Hartmut Rosa
In the context of globalization, neoliberalism and the development of digital information technology, the"social acceleration logic"as an implicit ideological norm, has broken into people's life, pushing everything to the social relations of involution that"accelerates competition"with overwhelming force.Rahel Jaeggi's definition of new form of alienation, namely"the relation of relationlessness",defines the alienation and indifference between subjects and the world in contemporary capitalist society.Invoking Jaeggi's concept of new alienation,Hartmut Rosa proves that when the accelerated involution of algorithmic quantification and optimized computing models rea-ches its limit, the cold and silent world relationships will inevitably lead to rejection and isolation of the subject, and will also inevitably lead to burnout and spiritual emptiness. Therefore,we should understand Jaeggi and Rosa's continued analysis of alienation in daily life in the contemporary capitalist society, recognize the trap of new alien-ation and involution in accelerating society, and clarify the root causes of individual burnout in a post-growth soci-ety,which is of great importance to help people escape from the spiritual dilemma in the accelerating society,re-turn to a better life and realize human freedom and all-round development.
