On Lefebvre's"Total Man"——Constrained by Utopian Cultural Salvation
French philosopher Henri Lefebvre believed that Marx's critique of the capitalist system was com-plete.He began to pay attention to the alienation phenomenon embedded in the daily life of workers, and set"total man"as the goal and goal of overcoming alienation. The ideal form of the future social subject,in order to tran-scend Marx's critical theory of alienated labor and fetishism. It should be said that"total man"broadens the new i-deas of Marx's alienation theory and helps us understand the inevitability of realizing the free and comprehensive development of human beings and the twists and turns of abandoning alienation. However,Lefebvre particularly valued the power of cultural revolution and advocated replacing the proletariat with the individual as the revolutiona-ry subject. He attempted to use the instantaneous return of the art of daily life to provide an opportunity to realize the"total man".The result was that he was divorced from what Marx advocated. The practical activities of material production make"total man"a speculative and abstract conceptual system.
