Research on the Problem of Burnout in the Meritocratic Society and Solution
Based on the background of the current era when digital technology is widely used,Han Byung-chul,a German Korean scholar, pointed out that the society of the 21st century has changed from a disciplinary so-ciety to a meritocratic society. In the meritocratic society, neoliberalism,as the main manifestation of contemporary capitalism, reconstructs the subject's survival mode and triggers the formation of the merit subject through perform-ance incentives, efficiency worship and other means. In the name of freedom, neoliberalism hinders the free and all-round development of people, imprisons people in the old logic of capitalism, promotes people to always main-tain excessive enthusiasm, and then forms self-exploitation and induces the burnout of the subject. In the continu-ous burnout, the human being,as the subject of merit,is reduced to a working animal, and in the exploitation of the self,he moves towards self-alienation and self-denial,and the warmth between man and the world is replaced by a cold and ruthless performance goal.In the face of burnout, the reconciliation between man and himself and the reconciliation between man and the world should be realized through the subject's own actions,so as to regain love for the world, get out of burnout, and achieve free and comprehensive development.
