Impacts of Returning Grazing to Grassland Program on Grassland Restoration Effects in Huanxian
Returning grazing to grassland plays a great significance for protecting the grassland ecological environment and promoting the sustainable development of grassland animal husbandry.This study areas located at the natural grasslands within and outside the Huanxian,which initially returning grazing to grassland in 2017,2019,2021,and 2023.Through observing the growth status of grassland vegetation and changes in soil nutrients,explore the effect of returning grazing to grassland program on grassland restoration in Huanxian.The results showed that after implementing the program of returning grazing to grassland in Huanxian,the vegetation coverage,plant height,density,grass yield,as well as the content of organic carbon,nitrogen and phosphorus in the surface soil were all higher than those outside the program area.Compared with the outside of the program area,the vegetation coverage of grasslands in the program area increased by 6.3%,7.6%,8.5%,and 7.4%respectively;the hay yield increased by 12.0%,20.4%,13.3%,and 26.5%respectively;the soil organic carbon content in the 0~15 cm depth increased by 12.7%,29.2%,14.5%,and 13.2%separately;the total nitrogen and phosphorus contents in the soil increased by 26.1%and 22.7%,12.3%and 14.8%,13.0%and 16.7%,11.7%,and 18.2%respectively in 2017,2019,2021,and 2023.The above research indicates that the program of returning farmland to grassland has significantly improved the quality of grasslands in Huanxian,and has effective ecological restoration effects to grasslands.
