The control of total oxygen content,slag composition and inclusion in each process of J409L low carbon nitrogen stainless steel smelting process(AOD+LF)and two-step process(AOD+VOD+LF)was compared and analyzed by gas an-alyzer,X-ray fluorescence method,metallography microscope,scanning electron microscope and energy spectrometer.The results show that the T[O]of J409L smelted by one-step process is higher in both LF refining and continuous casting.The Al deoxidation ability is obviously stronger,and the two-step VOD process has better deoxidation effect.The content of SiO2 in one-step smelting slag is high and the yield of Ti is low.J409L was produced by different smelting processes,and the types of inclusions in the molten steel coated with Ti oxide and Al-Si oxide were the same in continuous casting.
