By means of metallographic, electrochemical test, point corrosion test and salt spray test, the microstructure and properties of conventional carbon nitrogen medium chromium ferritic stainless steels with alloying elements Cr,Cu and Mo were compared with those of ultra-low carbon nitrogen medium chromium ultra-pure ferritic stainless steels. The results show that the high content of C and N in the medium chromium ferritic stainless steel will lead to the precipitation of a large a-mount of chromium carbide, resulting in poor chromium in the matrix around the carbide and affecting the pitting resistance. The addition of 0.2%Cu increases the electrode potential of stainless steel, and has high self-corrosion potential and low self-corrosion current density in 3.5%NaCl neutral solution. The 500 h neutral salt spray corrosion test of conventional car-bon nitrogen medium chromium ferritic stainless steel with alloying element 0.2%Cu and Mo can reach the same level as that of ultra-low carbon nitrogen medium chromium ferritic stainless steel.
