Experimental Study on Recovery of Valuable Elements from Copper Tailings of Sunan Hongxing Mine of Jiusteel
Valuable elements Fe and Ba are associated with copper ore in Sunan Hongxing Mine of Jiusteel.Fe is mainly in the form of siderite,Ba in the form of barite, and the valuable elements Fe and Ba are enriched in the tailings after copper flotation. The recovery process of valuable elements in copper tailings is determined as high intensity magnetic separation-suspension roasting-grinding and low intensity magnetic separation to recover iron concentrate, and high intensity magnetic separation to recover barite by flotation. With the copper flotation tailings containing Fe 10.8% and BaO 4.7%,Fe 56.4% of iron concentrate and BaSO4 88.79% of barite were recovered by this process.Because Fe recovery only needs to build a new high intensity magnetic separation and dehydration process, the high intensity magnetic separation of iron ore powder can be recycled into the existing suspension magnetization roasting separation system in the concentration plant of Jiusteel, which is small investment and easy to implement.
