Cause Analysis of Water Leakage in Water Cooling Flue of Converter
Chemical composition,metallographic structure,scanning electron microscope(SEM+EDS)were analyzed to solve the problem of water leakage in the water-cooled flue of converter.The results show that the structure of the water-cooled flue pipe changes from ferrite+pearlite to martensite after repeated high temperature and cooling during service,and cracks are more likely to occur at this position under external force.At the same time,the cooling water flowing through the flue tube corrodes the inner surface of the pipe wall,and the corrosion products formed are washed off by it.Under the com-bined action of these two factors,the pipe wall cracks from the inside out,and then produces water leakage.During mainte-nance,the thermal stress produced by alternating hot and cold is also an important factor causing pipe wall cracking.
