Experimental Study of Flotation for Copper Recovery from an Iron Ore Dressing Tailing in Qinghai Province
The tailings of an iron processing in Qinghai contained 0.83% copper. Since the flotation effect of a single type of collector was not satisfactory,the combination of two collectors,isoamylxanthan+ester-112,showed good results. Under the conditions of grinding fineness-325 mesh 85%,isopentyl xanthan 40 g/t and ester-11240 g/t,using sodium sulfide as the activator of iron ore tailings flotation copper,and using sodium hexametaphosphate as the dispersant of iron ore tailings flotation copper,the process was carried out by the procedure of "two roughing-two selections-two sweeps". The grade of copper concentrate in the closed-circuit test was 22.56%,the copper recovery rate was 76.88%,and the copper grade con-tent of the tailings in the closed-circuit test was 0.17%,and the flotation effect of copper recovery from iron ore dressing tailings was good.
