Herbal study of DangShen (Codonopsis pilosula) was conducted from the origin records of all the dynasties, plants morphology and modern study progress, introduction, quality, resources and others of Gansu Dang Shen were demonstrated. Gansu is the producing area of DangShen and DangShen as a kind of resource and the prospect of its development and utilization are forecast.
