By gathering and sorting out the literature on treating cancerous fever by traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the recent years,the paper systematically summarizes current advance in the treatment of the disease from its cause and the pathogenesis,the characteristics of fever,diagnostic standard,therapeutic principles and methods respectively,the combination of TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment,and modern pharmacological studies,the rational formulation of anti-tumor herbs and TCM as external therapy could treat fever,meanwhile,it could control the proliferation of tumor cells,promote the reduction of tumor body and improve clinical symptoms.
