Clinical Effects of Shenqi Dihuang Tang Combined with Metformin in the Treatment of Type Two Diabetes Mellitus and Its Influence on Oxidative Stress
Objective:To observe clinical effects of Shenqi Dihuang Tang and metformin in the treatment of type two diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and its influence on oxidative stress.Methods:All 94 T2DM patients were separated into the observation group and the control group according to the visiting order,with 47 cases in each group,the control group orally took metformin,and the observation group accepted oral administration of Shenqi Dihuang Tang based on Western medicine,15 days were one course of the treatment,and they were treated for three courses of the treatment.To detect the contents of SOD and MDA of the patients between both groups before and after the treatment using chemical colorimetric method,and to measure the contents of GSH-PX and ROS using ELISA;To observe the changes of blood glucose and clinical effects before and after the treatment between both groups.Results:Compared with before the treatment,the levels of SOD and GSH-PX were increased in the two groups(P<0.05),the contents of MDA and ROS,fasting blood glucose,2h postprandial plasma glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin were lowered(P<0.05),the improvements of the observation group were more noticeable(P<0.05);total effective rate of the observation group was 93.62%(44/47),higher than 78.72%(37/47)of the control group.Conclusion:Shenqi Dihuang Tang in combination with metformin could improve the levels of blood glucose and oxidative stress in T2DM patients,and its clinical effects superior to these of metformin.
