The Effects of Acupuncture and Orifices-dredging Blood-activating Decoction(Tongqiao Huoxue Tang)on the Complications of Totally Implantable Venous Access Ports in Patients after the Surgery of Brain Glioma
Objective:To observe the preventive effects of acupuncture and orifices-dredging blood-activating decoction(Tongqiao Huoxue Tang)on the complications of totally implantable venous access ports(TIAP)in patients with brain glioma. Methods:A total of 128 patients who accepted TIAP after surgical resection of glioma were allocated to the observation group and the control group according to random number table method with 64 cases in each group. The control group accepted routine nursing intervention on the first day after operation, and the observation group was given with traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture nursing combined with Tongqiao Huoxue Tang based on the therapy the control group accepted. To observe the incidence of TIAP complications, the symptom scores of Qi deficiency and blood stasis pattern and nursing satisfaction between both groups after two weeks of intervention. Results:The observation group was lower than the control group in the incidences of TIAP complications such as infection, intraventricular thrombosis, plugged catheter, fibrous protein sheath(P<0.05);after the intervention, the scores of the symptoms including panting, spiritlessness and fatigue, speechless, spontaneous sweating, stabbing pain, ecchymosis, squamous and dry skin, numbness of limb, were lowered in the two groups(P<0.01),the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.01);The nursing satisfaction rate of the observation group was 93.75%(60/64),which was higher than the 79.69%(51/64)of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:On the foundation of routine nursing, acupuncture and Tongqiao Huoxue Tang could reduce the incidence of TIAP complications in patients of Qi deficiency and blood stasis pattern after the surgery of glioma, improve TCM syndromes and raise nursing satisfaction.
