Effects of Qishao Benefiting-kidney Calming-liver Formula on the Motor Function of Patients with Post-stroke Dystonia
Objective:To investigate the effect of Qishao benefiting-kidney calming-liver formula on the motor function of patients with post-stroke dystonia.Methods:One hundred patients with post-stroke dystonia were selected as study subjects and randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 50 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional treatment,while the observation group was treated with the formula on the basis of conventional treatment.To compare the overall effectiveness,muscle tone,motor function,activity of daily living(ADL),and quality of life between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group[94.0%(47/50)]was higher than that[76.0%(38/50)]of the control group(P＜0.05);after the treatment,there were more patients with grade 1 and 1+ quadriceps and biceps muscle tone in the observation group than in the control group,and there were fewer grade 3 patients in the observa-tion group than in the control group(P＜0.05);the scores of motor function of the two groups were increased after three,six,and twelve months of the treatment,and the scores of the observation group were higher than theses of the control group(P＜0.05);ADL ability and the scores of the quality of life questionnaire were increased in both groups after treatment,and the observation group was higher than the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The administration of Qishao benefiting-kidney calming-liver formula on the basis of conventional treatment for patients with post-stroke dystonia can increase the therapeutic effects,reduce dystonia,improve motor function,and then improve the quality of life of the patients.
