Objective:To observe the clinical effects of benefiting-Qi arthralgia-eliminating decoction(Yiqi Juanbi formulation)in the treatment of knee synovitis(KS)of dysfunction of spleen in transportation pattern.Methods:Seventy patients were randomized into the test group(35 cases,three cases dropped out,and 32 cases included)and the control group(35 cases,five cases dropped out,and 30 cases included).The control group took celecoxib capsules orally,and the test group accepted oral administration of the herbs,both groups were treated for three weeks continuously.To assess symptom scores,VAS,WOMAC scores,the degree of knee joint swelling before and after the treatment,and evaluate the incidence of adverse reactions.Results:After the treatment,total effective rate of the test group was[93.75% (30/32)],higher than[83.33% (25/30)]of the control group(P<0.01);after the treatment,VAS scores,WOMAC scores and the degrees of knee joint swelling lowered than before the treatment(P<0.05),and the decrease of the test group was greater than that of the control group(P<0.05).After the treatment,total scores of the symptoms,joint swelling,joint pain,unfavorable joint motion and weakness reduced than before the treatment(P<0.05),while the changes in abdominal distension and anorexia,loose stool,yellow complexion and emaciated body were insignificant(P>0.05);total scores of the symptoms and the scores of different symptoms reduced than before the treatment in the test group(P<0.05);both groups were equally effective in improving the scores of unfavorable joint motion(P>0.05),but the test group was superior to the control group in improving joint swelling,joint pain,abdominal distension and anorexia,loose stool,yellow complexion and emaciated body(P<0.05).Conclusion:The prescription in the treatment of KS patients of dysfunction of spleen in transportation pattern presents the clear advantages in the improvement of the concomitant symptoms including abdominal distension and anorexia,loose stool,yellow complexion and emaciated body,and no obvious adverse reaction occur in the therapeutic period.
