Objective:To investigate the clinical values of the six sigma DMAIC(define, measure, analyze, improve, control)model and TCM comprehensive therapy applied in patients with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)characterized by systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS).Methods:Altogether 126 patients with confirmed SAP were chosen as the objects of study, they were divided into the control group and six sigma group using simultaneous odd and even number, the control group adopted conventional therapy of Western medicine, and six sigma group employed SIRS management scheme containing the six sigma DMAIC model and TCM comprehensive therapy based on the control group. To observe the levels of CRP,IL-6 and PCT,body temperature, heart rate, respiration, the levels of white blood cells(WBC),TCM syndrome integrals and clinical effecs in the two groups. Results:Compared with the control group after the intervention, the levels of CRP,IL-6 and PCT decreased in six sigma group(P<0.05),body temperature, heart rate, respiration, the levels of WBC lowered(P<0.05),TCM syndrome(fever, thirst, abdominal pain, yellow and greasy tongue fur and total scores)integrals reduced(P<0.05).Overall clinical effects of six sigma group were better than these of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The six sigma DMAIC model and TCM comprehensive therapy could effectively inhibit inflammatory response in SAP patients, improve TCM syndromes and enhance clinical effects.
