Effects of Fennel Hot Compress Plus Retention Enema with Dachengqi Tang on the Rehabilitation of Children after the Surgery of Purulent Appendicitis
Objective:To explore the influences of fennel hot compress plus retention enema with Dachengqi Tang on postoperative recovery of children after the surgery of purulent appendicitis.Methods:All 120 patients who underwent the operation of purulent appendicitis were allocated to the two groups,60 cases in each group.In the observation group,fennel hot compress plus retention enema with Dachengqi Tang was performed,in the control group,conventional therapy and care was conducted,and postoperative nursing intervention was imp-lemented for three days.To compare the time of first exhaust and defecation,initial ingress time,the time of off-bed mobility,postoperative hospital stay,VAS scores after the surgery,the parents'satisfaction and adverse reaction between both groups.Results:When the observation group was compared with the control group in first defecation time,first exhaust time,initial ingress time,the first time of off-bed mobility and postoperative hospital stay,and the difference had statistical meaning(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in VAS scores on the day of surgery and 24 hours after the surgery(P>0.05);VAS scores 48 hours after the surgery and 96 hours after the surgery of the observation group were lower than these of the control group(P<0.05).Parents'satisfaction of the observation group was[90.0%(54/60)],higher than[75.0%(45/60)]of the control group(P<0.05).The difference had no statistical meaning in adverse reactions between both groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Fennel hot compress plus retention enema with Dachengqi Tang could speed up the recovery of gastrointestinal function in children after the operaiton,shorten the duration of hospitalization,alleviate the pain of postoperative wound and improve the parents'satisafaction.
