Effects of Winter Pruning on Growth,Yield and Quality of Dongzao Jujube
[Objective]Winter pruning is one of the important links in the field management of Dongzao jujube.In order to clarify the optimal pruning amount of Dongzao jujube in Wudi County,Binzhou City,and promote the high and stable yield of Dongzao jujube and the improvement of fruit quality,the effects of winter pruning amount on the growth,yield and quality of winter jujube were studied.[Methods]The 7-year-old Dongzao jujube trees in Futaizi Village,Mashanzi Town,Wudi County,Binzhou City,Shandong Province were taken as the research objects.Five pruning were set up,including no pruning(CK),10%(P1),20%(P2),30%(P3)and 40%(P4)of the total branches.The growth and development,fruit yield and quality of winter jujube trees under different winter pruning treatments were analyzed.[Results]The winter pruning had significant effects on the growth,yield,yield components and quality of Dongzao jujube.When the winter pruning amount was 30%(P3)of the total branches,the tree height was the highest,which was 188.36 cm.The east-west crown width and north-south crown width were the highest under no pruning(CK)treatment,which were 157.35 cm and 134.56 cm,respectively.The east-west crown width and north-south crown width were the lowest,104.53 cm and 91.18 cm,respectively,under the treat-ment of 40%pruning amount of total branches in winter(P4).In addition to the fruit shape index,the winter pruning amount had a significant effect on the single fruit weight,fruit longitudinal diameter,fruit transverse diameter and yield of Dongzao ju-jube.When the winter pruning amount was 40%(P4)of the total branches,the maximum single fruit weight was 19.83 g.The highest yield was 27.53 kg/plant when the pruning amount in winter was 30%of the total branches(P3).The soluble sugar content and vitamin C content of Dongzao jujube fruit had the maximum value under the treatment of 40%winter prun-ing,which were 23.55%and 286.59 mg/g,respectively.[Conclusion]When the pruning amount of Dongzao jujube was 30%of the total branches,the effect of improving the growth,yield and quality of Dongzao jujube was the best.
