Introduction and Trial Planting of'Chunxiang'Tangelo in Huaihua City,Hu'nan Province
[Objective]'Chunxiang'tangelo was introduced from Citrus Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricul-tural Sciences in Huaihua City of Hunan Province in 2007.The adaptability and traits of'Chunxiang'Tangelo in Huaihua were observed through comparative experiments,in order to provide scientific basis and technical support for the popularization and[Methods]From 2022 to 2023,two'Chunxiang'Tangelo trees were randomly selected from five directions in the southeast,northwest and middle of'Chunxiang'Tangelo orchard by five-point sampling method,and their introduction performance was observed and recorded.The single fruit weight,fruit longitudinal diameter,fruit transverse diameter,edible rate,soluble sol-ids,vitamin C,total acid and sucrose content were mainly measured,as well as the harvest and yield at fruit maturity stage.[Results]'Chunxiang'Tangelo had good adaptability,early fruiting,high yield,stable yield and high quality,strong disease resistance and good economic benefit in Huaihua,Hunan Province.The fruit set in the third year after planting,and entered the high yield period in the sixth year.The average yield per mu(667 m2)was 2 060 kg,the sugar content was 11%～13%,and the acid was very low.It could be eaten in September,and the flavor was better after storage.It was recommended to guide fruit growers to moderately develop and plant according to market demand.In the cultivation and management,strength-en the'Chunxiang'Tangelo sapling soil fertilizer and water management,as far as possible to promote the growth of citrus roots,healthy shoots,so that the rapid expansion of the crown,as soon as possible to form early fruiting,high yield,excellent fruit ideal tree shape;mature'Chunxiang'Tangelo trees should strengthen flower and fruit management,scientific pruning,early thinning of flowers and fruits and heavy thinning of flowers and fruits,solve the contradiction between growth and re-sults,prolong the years of high yield,prevent early senescence of tree vigor,so as to obtain high quality,high yield and stable yield.[Conclusion]'Chunxiang'Tangelo can adapt to the local climate environment since it was planted in Huaihua City,showing good adaptability and adapting to planting in Huaihua.
