Interpretation of group standards on quality and testing standards of carbon-based materials for flue gas purification
The activated carbon for flue gas multi-pollutant synergistic high-efficiency purification technology has been extensively implemented for the treatment of flue gases from steel sintering and pelletization processes,with carbon-based materials as the core playing a crucial role in ensuring the safety,stability,and cost-effectiveness of the technology.However,the current enforced product quality standards and testing standards for carbon-based materials lack specificity,have incomplete testing methods,and require improvements in testing equipment.To standardize and unify the performance testing and quality grading of flue gas purification carbon-based materials,it is imperative to establish a set of advanced,scientifically accurate,and convenient testing and quality standards.In this context,under the guidance of the China Metallurgical Construction Association,A domestic design institute together with other relevant organizations,has jointly compiled the"standard specification of carbon-based materials for flue gas purification"and the"performance test standard of carbon-based materials for flue gas purification,"num-bered as T/CMCA 40027-2022 and T/CMCA 40028-2022,respectively.Both standards have been in effect since February 1,2023.Over the past year,the implementation of these standards has received positive market feed-back,significantly promoting the production of carbon-based materials and their application in steel enterprises.To further expedite the application of these standards in practical production,a detailed interpretation from various per-spectives was provided,including the background of standard compilation,classification of the synergistic and effi-cient purification technology using activated carbon,main standard contents,index settings,method innovations,and equipment innovations.In terms of index settings,a new wet capacity index has been added,and the concepts and testing methods for SO2(cyclic)adsorption value and cyclic desulfurization and denitrification performance have been redefined,making the standard more targeted for engineering services.Regarding method innovations,the test-ing methods for wear resistance,compressive strength,and bulk density have been redefined,resulting in test results that are closer to actual values.In terms of equipment innovations,devices for testing particle size distribu-tion,ignition point,and volatile matter have been developed,significantly improving testing efficiency and accuracy.
