Performance evaluation on coal quality characteristics analysis of injection pulverized coal in blast furnace
The coal quality characteristics are an important factor affecting the utilization rate of pulverized coal injection into blast furnaces. In order to optimize the fuel structure of blast furnace injection and reduce ironmaking costs,an in-depth study was conducted on the coal quality characteristics of the coal powder used for injection into Shougang Jingtang blast furnace, and an equivalent ash content was proposed to replace ash content as a method for evaluating the cost-effectiveness of different coal powder injection into blast furnaces. The results show that anthracite had high fixed carbon and heating value, bituminous coal had excellent combustion performance but strong explosive properties. The indexes of upgraded pulverized coal and semi-coke were close to those of anthracite and less expensive. The optimal effect of blast furnace injection can be achieved by blending with different pulverized coals. The combustibility and grindability of coke powder were poor, and the combustibility of coking dust was similar to that of coke powder, which can negatively affect the pulverizing system and the utilization rate of pulverized coal when used as blast furnace injecting fuel. The combustion characteristics and kinetics of different pulverized coals were analyzed by the Coats-Redfern integral method, and the results showed that bituminous coal had the lowest activation energy, followed by upgraded pulverized coal and semi-coke,and coke powder and coking dust had the highest. The samples with lower activation energy had better combustibility. The equivalent ash calculation results showed that the higher CaO and MgO content in bituminous coal and semi-coke made the equivalent ash lower, which can reduce the slag volume when performing blast furnace blowing and is beneficial to reduce the fuel ratio.
