Study on detoxification of stainless steel slag in cyclone furnace and preparation of slag wool by modified melt
Detoxification of stainless steel slag in cyclone furnace and preparation of slag wool by modified melt were investigated in a thermal power plant in China.Pulverized coal and stainless steel slag were premixed and then synchronously blown into cyclone furnace.Molten slag formed by coal ash and stainless steel slag were attached to inner wall of cyclone due to high-speed swirling airflow and then flowed into slag tank through movable chute at the bottom of tapping hole.Slag tank was transported to electric furnace workshop and molten slag were poured into electric furnace for modification.Slag wool were prepared by centrifugal machine with modified slag.Detoxification mechanism of stainless steel slag, modification of molten slag, fiberization of modified slag, and properties of slag wool were systematic studied.Research results indicated that Cr(Ⅵ)in stainless steel slag were pyrolyzed or reduced to Cr(Ⅲ)with over 99.96%conversion rate under high temperature and reducing atmosphere.Optimal temperature range of fiberization was 1360-1540 ℃ with 40 mass%stainless steel slag and 0 mass%lime as modification agent.Slag wool with acidity coefficient of 2.0,average diameter of 5.1 μm and shot content of 5.2 mass%were prepared.Leaching test indicated that Cr(Ⅵ)and TCr inside slag wool met Chinese national standard.Properties and combustion performance of slag wool were equivalent to rock wool and Class A non combustion material, respectively.
