Parameter optimization of molybdenum iron production by pellets prepared from molybdenum waste
A new process with low cost, short cycle, and low pollution was proposed for ferromolybdenum smelting.Calcium molybdate waste was used as raw material to prepare pellets for ferromolybdenum production.Orthogonal experiment and single factor experiment were used to prepare pellets and the strength of pellets was tested. The effects of binder dosage, moisture, and pelletizing time on the properties of green pellets were analyzed, and the composition of molybdenum iron was tested. The results show that it is possible to produce ferromolybdenum by adding calcium molybdate as a raw material to pellets. The performance of molybdenum-containing waste pellets is best when the addition of calcium molybdate is 10 wt.%,the moisture content is 8 wt.%,the additional amount of bentonite is 2 wt.%,and the pelletizing time is 22 min,the performance of molybdenum-containing waste pellets is the best.Under the pelletizing process conditions, the Mo content of the molybdenum iron produced is 61.04 wt.%,which is 60MoFe and meets the requirements of 60MoFe in GB/T3649-2008.A new process technology for ferromolybdenum smelting and calcium molybdate resource utilization was provided.
