Land Consolidation in Shanxi Province from the Perspective of Targeted Poverty Alleviation
Due to the fact that there are three contiguous areas of extreme poverty in Shanxi Province, the task of targeted poverty reduction is very arduous. This paper studied the relationship between land consolidation and targeted poverty alleviation in Shanxi Province. Theresults indicate that land consolidation has upgraded the infrastructure, forging ahead the construction of modern agriculture, improved the structural adjustment of agriculture, leading the increase in farmers' income, promoted the living conditions and rural economy and also increased the land utilization rate and the quality of cultivated land, improving the ecological environment. Moreover, it has directly promoted the targeted poverty alleviation and in turn targeted poverty alleviation provides financial support for land consolidation, which clarified the development of land consolidation and indirectly promoted the land consolidation. According to the current development strategy and the actual situation in various regions of Shanxi Province, the directions and suggestions for common development of land consolidation and targeted poverty alleviation have been proposed.
