On Economic Relations of Node Cities Along New Western Land-Sea Corridor
Taking the node cities along the new western land-sea corridor as research objects, this paper constructed a city quality evaluation index system and used methods like entropy value and modified gravity model to explore the economic connection intensity and the direction of urban economic connection of 14 node cities along the new western land-sea corridor from 2016 to 2020.The results were shown as follows:(1)There was a significant disparity in the intensity of economic connections among these node cities, with the intensity of economic connections in some city combinations increasing annually. These cities actively joined economic networks, forming connections with each other at or above a slightly weak level.(2)The economic connection direction of node cities along the route showed obvious characteristics of central city orientation and regional adjacency orientation.Influenced by the comprehensive strength of cities and their geographical factors, strong economic connections among cities primarily occured within the same and adjacent areas. The diffusion, economic absorption, and transmission functions of node cities along the route still needed to be further enhanced. Therefore, this paper proposed corresponding optimization suggestions to facilitate the coordinated high-quality development of node cities along the new western land-sea corridor.
