Research on Economic Collaborative Development of Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration:Based on the Perspective of Economic Linkages
This article takes all prefecture level cities and counties in the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration as the research object,applies the modified gravity model to measure the economic connection strength between 15 cities and counties in the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration from 2008 to 2020,and analyzes the inter city connection strength,inter provincial economic connection strength,and total economic connection strength of the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration.The research has found that:(1)The economic connection strength between cities in the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration shows an increasing trend year by year,and the number of city combinations with weak connection strength and above is generally increasing,while the number of city combinations with extremely weak connection strength is decreasing.However,the economic connection strength between cities in the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration is still a a relatively weak stage.(2)The economic connections between cities within the same province in the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration are relatively close,while the economic connections between cities outside the province are relatively loose.Moreover,the strength of the internal and external economic connections between cities in Hainan Province,especially the"three counties",urgently needs to be improved.(3)The total economic strength of the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration shows an approximate linear growth trend,but the economic development of various cities in the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration is imbalanced,with obvious stratification of economic strength.And the"one bay with two axes,one core with two poles"urban agglomeration framework for the development of the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration has not been formed.The economic development vitality of the"one bay"is insufficient,and the"two axes"have begun to take shape,and the"one core"needs to be strengthened and constructed and the"two poles"are gradually enhancing their agglomeration effect.Therefore,the article proposes corresponding optimization suggestions to promote the economic coordinated development of the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration.
