Study on the Development Overview and Characteristics of Modern Xinjiang's Silk Industry——Taking the Silk Industry in Hotan Prefecture as an Example
Known as the"Western Regions"in ancient times,Xinjiang is an important hub of the ancient Silk Road and a crossroads of the intersection of Eastern and Western civilizations.The"Atlas silk'produced in Hotan area once enjoyed a good reputation.Through examining the developing status of modern Xinjiang's silk industry,it can be concluded that the key to its development is the introduction of mainland silk technology and skilled workers under government support,as well as skill training for local sericulture farmers.It's thus clear that enhancing the professional skills of sericulture farmers and making them a force for skill reproduction is crucial to the sound development of the industry.
