Data Mining of Expert Database of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Collaborative Innovation Center for TCM
OBJECTIVE To introduce the composition of the expert database of Guangdong TCM science and technology collaborative innovation center(hereinafter referred to as"Center"),analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the expert database,in order to provide reference for the construction and management of other think tanks.METHODS The Expert Database Management Measures of Guangdong Collaborative Innovation Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine(Trial)was issued to formulate the standards and management norms for the entry and exit of experts into and out of the database.From the middle of 2019,experts and scholars with certain popularity,recognition and influence in TCM and related fields in the province were widely collected to build a think tank.RESULTS A total of 1 723 experts were enrolled,68.7%of whom were male.The average age of the expert database was(51.71±8.58)years old,and the higher the education level,the lower the average age.Guangzhou was the city and Sun Yat-sen University was the university with the largest number of experts.The majority of the experts were integrated Chinese and Westem medicine,accounting for 32.04%.The disadvantage was that there was a gap with the expected number of experts,and the number of non-Pearl River Delta areas was slightly insufficient.CONCLUSION The expert database has a reasonable age composition,high educational level,academic achievements and professional level,indicating that the center has initially built a multi-disciplinary integration with TCM as the classics and cross-disciplinary weaves,bringing together talents in TCM and related fields in the province.
