Study on the improvement effect of Compound Ficus Hirta Vahl on chronic fatigue syndrome in mice
Objective To study the improvement effect of Compound Ficus Hirta Vahl(CFHV)on chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS)in mice. Methods Kunming mice were used to construct a pathological model of chronic fatigue syndrome and randomly divided into the blank group, the model group, the positive control group(145.6 mg/kg),and high, medium, and low doses of CFHV groups(5.2 g/kg,2.6 g/kg,1.3 g/kg).After 28 days of continuous gavage treatment,we observed the behavioral activity of mice in tail suspension and open-field experiments, detected antioxidant stress capacity, immune organ index, and the levels of liver glycogen, super oxide dismutase(SOD),interleukin-2(IL-2),interferon-γ(IFN-γ),5-hydroxy tryptamine(5-HT),and dopamine(DA).Results Compared with the model group, the high, medium, and low doses of CFHV groups showed a shorter tail suspension time,a significant increase in open-field activity, and prolonged survival time in extreme environments(P<0.01).The coefficients of thymus and spleen both were boosted, the levels of liver glycogen,SOD,IL-2,IFN-γ,and 5-HT were increased, but the DA content was decreased(P<0.01).Conclusion CFHV can enhance the antioxidant stress capacity of mice, alleviate chronic fatigue and adverse emotions in mice, enhance the body'immunity, which displays a good therapeutic effect on CFS.
