Research progress of proximity labeling in protein-protein interactions
Proximity labeling(PL)technology refers to the in-situ labeling of protein-interacting proteins of interest by fusing specific catalytic enzymes, followed by mass spectrometry or sequencing analysis to identify the tagged proteins. This technique can accurately identify protein-protein interactions under transient dynamic condition, which is an important supplement to traditional analytical methods, and has a broad application prospect in the study of protein-protein interactions. In this paper, the working principle, classification, advantages and disadvantages of various PL enzymes were introduced, then the application of this technology in the study of protein-protein interactions was discussed, and finally the advantages, existing problems and development trends of adjacent labeling technology were discussed,in order to provide reference for the application of this technology.
