Research progress on the role and molecular mechanism of BS69 gene in tumors
BS69 is located at chromosome 10p12.48,and its expression is downregulated in human cancers, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, which thus is considered as a potential tumor suppressor. The role and regulatory mechanism of BS69 in tumors are complex and diverse. It can participate in the regulation of tumor cell growth, proliferation, invasion, and migration through signaling pathways such as NF-κB,JNK,RAS/MERK,and its interaction with miRNA.In addition to serving as a specific''reader''for histone variant H3.3,BS69 has also been found to be involved in RNA splicing regulation, cellular senescence, chromatin remodeling and more. This paper mainly reviews the gene structure, physiological function, signaling pathway mechanism and correlation with tumors and various diseases of BS69.
