Analysis on the structure and influencing factors of hospitalization cost for patients with cardiovascular disease in a public hospital in Guangzhou
Objective To analyze the structure and its main influencing factors of hospitalization cost for patients with cardiovascular disease,so as to provide a empirical basis for saving medical expenses. Methods The hospitalization cost of 2 764 cardiovascular disease patients in the case hospital during 2022 was analyzed based on the gray correlation degree method.One-way factor analysis and multi-factor logistic regression analysis were used to investigate the influencing factors of hospitalization expenses. Results The average length of stay for cardiovascular disease patients was 8.4 days, with an average hospitalization cost of 24 740.48 yuan.Among the total hospitalization cost for cardiovascular disease patients, consumable cost and diagnostic cost were the top two.The gray correlation results showed that diagnostic cost had the highest correlation with the total hospitalization cost.Multiple linear regression results indicated that gender,first-time hospitalization,out-of-area medical treatment, surgical operations, length of stay, and type of disease all significantly affected hospitalization cost(P<0.001),with the length of stay having the greatest impact. Conclusion The internal composition of total hospitalization cost for cardiovascular disease patients is unreasonable, with consumable cost and diagnostic cost accounting for a disproportionately high share. The internal structure of total hospitalization cost needs further improvement. There should be enhanced cardiovascular disease prevention and control publicity, strengthened cost supervision, optimized diagnostic and treatment processes, and the formulation of reasonable treatment plans to achieve a balance between medical cost and the quality of medical services, thereby reducing the economic burden on cardiovascular disease patients.
