Effect of defense style and life events on mental health in adolescents with depressive disorder
Objective To investigate the relationship between defense style, life events and mental health in ado-lescents with depressive disorder, and provide evidence for the prevention and treatment of adolescent depressive dis-order.Methods A total of 161 outpatient and inpatient adolescents with depression disorder in our hospital were se-lected as the study group, and 180 healthy physical examination subjects and school students were selected as the control group.Symptom Check List-90(SCL-90),Defense style questionnaire(DSQ)and Adolescent Life Events Scale(ASLEC)were assessed.SPSS 22.0 was used for statistical analysis.Result The ASLEC and SCL-90 total scores in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The immature defense mechanism scores in DSQ were significantly positively correlated with SCL-90 and ASLEC scores(P<0.05).The mature de-fense mechanism was negatively correlated with SCL-90 and ASLEC scores(P<0.05).There were no statistical significantly correlation differences between the intermediate defense mechanism and SCL-90 and ASLEC scores(P>0.05).Conclusion The frequency of adverse life events in adolescents with depressive disorder is higher than that of healthy people of the same age,and their mental health level is significantly lower than that of healthy people of the same age.Immature defense mechanism is high risk factor affecting mental health, while mature defense mechanism is a good protective factor for mental health, intermediate defense mechanism and masking factor there are no direct influence on mental health.
