Discussion on the Problem of"Non-Overlapping Words"in the Eastern Dialect of Miao Language
Non-overlapping phrasing is a kind of phrasing, which is composed of two syllables completely dif-ferent in sound, rhyme and tone.It is a fixed word with stable structure and clear function. The vast majority of scholars believe that there are non-overlapping words in the eastern dialect of Miao. This view may have some de-fects,because most of the non-overlapping words listed in it are composed of a monosyllabic onomatopoeia and a non-semantic word prefix, and a few are composed of two onomatopoeia words with different sounds, rhymes and keys. Moreover, the structure of these words is unstable. There are no non-overlapping words with fixed structure in the sense of words in the eastern dialect of Miao, but there are some non-overlapping word clusters with a cer-tain onomatopoeic word as the core. Therefore,it is necessary to discuss it in detail.
